TD Banknorth pilots Fargo HDP

Fargo HDP instant issuance financial card printing technology, a product of HID Global, is being used in 15 pilot programmes with and credit unions, says ad-hoc-news.

The largest of the programmes is TD Banknorth, a and financial services company headquartered in Portland, Maine, which is piloting Dynamic Card Solutions' CardWizard FCP 20/20, an OEM version of HDP technology.

TD Banknorth is offering customers a flat-panel, or non-embossed, Visa debit card and an individual PIN when they open a personal or business cheque account. The cards can be used immediately at ATMs and retailers. TD Banknorth plans to roll-out the programme to all 600 branches in 2008.

Banks discuss technology

Top 100 Arab banks will shed light on the role of technology to enhance competitiveness of the Arab financial and banking sector in light of new customers' expectations, new and increased competition at a key event in Dubai, states Gulf Daily News.

The fourth Financial Technology (FT) Summit, organised by the World Development Forum, will be held on 8 and 9 April.

"In an era of information and knowledge-based economy, technology is no more a mere complementary but a vital element to existence and success," said UAE Ministry of Finance Under-Secretary Younes Haji Al Khoury.

iPay partners with Connect

iPay Technologies, a provider of electronic bill payment products and services for community financial institutions, announced an alliance with Connect Financial Software Solutions, an online banking provider for credit unions, according to Business Wire.

The alliance enables credit unions to integrate Connect's online banking application with iPay's consumer and business bill payment solutions to create a single, credit union-branded Web site for members.

Credit union members using these applications in tandem can access their online financial transactions directly from a personal financial management software solution.
