Microsoft today announced that the third intake of students into its Graduate Academy have successfully completed their curricula for this year.
First operating as a pilot programme with 12 students in 2004, more than 40 graduates have completed the curriculum portion of this programme, with 27 completed internships either within Microsoft or with business partners.
This year, the Graduate Academy had an intake of 30 students, who followed technical and cross-functional competency training. Fifteen of these graduates are embarking on their in-service internships, with the remaining group scheduled to complete their internships in August 2006. There are also currently 10 students in the Academy that has been established in Cape Town.
"We see a great future for this country, when we look at the calibre of students that are passing through this Academy, and are encouraged by the growing demand for these students throughout our partner base. We believe they can go on to become the technology leaders of the future," says Gordon Frazer, managing director of Microsoft South Africa.
The first group of 15 Microsoft Certified Dynamics students have successfully been placed within business partner organisations, which include Axiz, DAC Systems, Exordia, GijimaAst, i5 Group, Liquid Thought, SIS, TIK Business Solutions and XON.
"Our engagement with these graduates does not end through placement with our partners. Together, we will continue to monitor the progress and development of these students over the next six months," concludes Frazer.
