Telecom Junxion introduces new digital router for corporates

Companies today face an ongoing battle in boardrooms to lower costs, yet improve efficiency and connectivity, all the time, in real-time

Johannesburg, 18 Jun 2004

Telecom Junxion, the connectivity expert, based in Johannesburg, has introduced a highly sophisticated new digital gateway for the LCR (least-cost routing) industry aimed at the corporate market.

LCR is when a cellular, national or international call is intercepted and routed through the most cost-effective network, saving customers between 20% and 50% on the cost of calls.

"With the latest technology available to us, through our strategic partnership with CentraCell, it allows us to deliver easy to use, industry-leading, innovative telecommunications solutions to companies, whereby we are further cutting costs with our digital gateway," says Angela Webster, managing director of Telecom Junxion.

Using the new advanced least-cost router gives your PABX direct access to the GSM (mobile), ISDN and international telecommunications networks. Outgoing calls are automatically routed through the most cost-effective network according to the number dialled and this is transparent to the user. The high performance advanced least-cost router, "ALCR", is used to determine the path the call takes. Furthermore, your PABX has the advantage of being able to access the GSM network in addition to the ISDN network. It is also possible to use the GSM network for redundancy should ISDN access be unavailable.

"You know the problem: different network providers with thousands of different tariffs and you`ve got to select one. It is now possible to make full use of all those tariffs with the ALCR. You use your phone as you used to, and pay noticeably less money for more value," says Maria Cromhout, marketing and sales director at Telecom Junxion.

Because the new ALCR is a fully digital device, the disconnection times are immediate, thereby saving you a further percentage of call costs. The device can act as NT (network terminal) or TE (terminal) equipment, which means no dedicated port is required on your PABX. Clarity of voice is excellent through this new digital router.

Voice communication is often mission-critical for any business and because of the extent to which companies communicate, a cost-effective solution is the next priority after availability.

This all-new digital router is cutting-edge technology, the way least-cost routing will progress in future.

Julian Morelis, managing director of CentraCell (Pty) Ltd in Johannesburg, says: "CentraCell is on a major drive to fulfil a desperate requirement for a true digital gateway solution in the South African corporate sector, which is predominantly fully digital voice and data environments. We have recently concluded the sole distribution rights for the Novatec Gateway equipment, which is by far the most advanced digital LCR equipment available on the global market. The Novatec is so technologically advanced that it is already capable of seamless integrating with VOIP solutions as well as been able to integrate with the eagerly awaited SNO [second national operator]. CentraCell has strategically aligned itself with highly experienced, skilled and accredited partners around the country such as Telecom Junxion to market the Novatec TMG Gateway solutions to the corporate sector."

Telecom Junxion offers a wide range of least-cost routing services including Cellular LCR, International LCR, National LCR on calls > 50km, Direct Connect as well as ISP and Data Services, through a partnership with CentraCell.

CentraCell is the only service provider in SA that is ISO9001 certified and geared to offer solutions for the SME market as well as corporates, including clients that were previously unable to benefit from LCR due to the PABX not being able to facilitate additional ports or PABXs that did not have LCR capabilities.
