About 2 492 customers in the Bothasig area have had slow responses or no access to Telkom's ADSL service since 6am this morning.
The cause for the connectivity problems is an ATM link running errors, says Lulu Letlape, the telco's group executive of corporate communications.
"The support personnel have already restored the majority of the disrupted services and are currently working on the remaining 542 services. [We hope] to restore all affected services as quickly as possible," she says.
Telkom customers in the Cape region this morning began posting comments on myadsl.co.za's forum pages regarding the disruption of services. However, these comments alleged that the problems had started on Friday and spread across Edgemead, Parrow and Bellville.
