It says the failure has had an impact on some customers in the city and some surrounding areas.
“While all callers are able to make and receive calls within the 012 dialling area, some are not able to make calls to or receive calls from outside this area.”
The operator says it is working together with its technology supplier to identify and rectify the fault and will keep the public informed through regular updates.
“Telkom apologises for the inconvenience this technical failure has caused our customers and assures them that we are doing everything possible to restore services as soon as possible.”
