Telkom launches 1023 AutoComplete

From today, customers calling Telkom`s 1023 Directory Enquiry Service will be able to make use of the company`s new AutoComplete offering.

"With 1023 AutoComplete, customers will now have the option of being connected directly to the number requested, without having to first write the number down, end the call to 1023, and then dial the number themselves," says Steven White, Telkom Executive: Product Development.

This convenient new service will be available for a surcharge of 75c (incl VAT) to connect to the called party, whereafter Telkom`s normal per-second call charges will apply.

Once the requested number has been provided, customers will be taken through a voice-prompt menu where they will be given the option of being connected to the number automatically.

Should they decline, the call will be terminated in the usual manner. Should they accept, they will automatically be connected to the called party. In the event of the number being busy, they will then have the option of holding while the system re-attempts the call, terminating the call or returning to the operator.
