Telkom Mobile has started offering customers on certain of its plans free unlimited WiFi.
MD of Telkom Mobile Attila Vitai says subscribers on qualifying Telkom Mobile SmartPlan, SmartSaver, SmartInternet, SmartInternet Promo and SmartInternet Saver plans now have access to free unlimited WiFi.
Telkom Mobile says prepaid and TopUp subscribers have also been allocated free WiFi access for seven days or 30 days, subject to product-specific terms and conditions, when they recharge with airtime.
Vitai says the company is in the process of rolling out an extensive WiFi network. "So far there are more than 400 secure WiFi hotspots concentrated in metropolitan areas across the country."
Subscribers who are not on qualifying plans can buy Telkom Mobile WiFi ad hoc bundles valid for 30 minutes for R25 or 60 minutes for R40.
