Telkom names CFO

Johannesburg, 30 Jan 2004

Telephone operator Telkom has appointed a chief financial officer (CFO) to replace Anthony Lewis, who returned to the US last year.

Kaushik Patel, who was named acting CFO in August, has been appointed to the post on a permanent basis.

Patel joined Telkom as deputy CFO in 2000, before which he served as financial director at Teba from 1999 and finance executive at The African Bank from 1997.

Lewis left Telkom in September to return to SBC Communications as vice-president: finance, SBC Southwest.

Lewis was seconded to Telkom in 1997 when SBC and Telekom Malaysia acquired an interest in Telkom.
