On 27 October 2005, Telkom will open the doors to its newest Telkom direct shop. Located in the South Coast Mall, the direct shop will enable customers to interact with the company in a customer-friendly environment characterised by professional layout, elegant d'ecor and clear signage.
Customers can expect the following from the new Telkom direct shop:
* Advice on and assistance with the application of new services that would suit customers` specific lifestyle and circumstances.
* The full range of communication-related fixed-line and cellular card products, eg phonecards, prepaid vouchers, WorldCall cards, Vodacom prepaid vouchers, etc.
* The widest range of the latest in trendy, functional fixed-line telephone instruments (cash or terms).
* The complete array of Vodacom cellular products and services.
* Internet surfing through the use of technologies like ADSL and ISDN.
* Exciting lifestyle communication value-added services.
* Convenient account payment facilities.
The direct shop in the South Coast Mall is a continuation of the company`s drive to reposition and transform its customer service branches into modern retail interfaces. This process started towards the end of October 2002 with the opening of the first direct shop in Centurion near Pretoria.
The South Coast Mall direct shop is the 51st in a portfolio of 128 outlets. Telkom aims to complete the re-branding initiative in the first quarter of 2008. The company is also planning to grow its portfolio of outlets to approximately 160.
