South African Square Kilometre Array
Service providers are hereby invited to bid for the supply, delivery, installation and support of MeerKAT telescope data network Ethernet switches and interconnect, to be installed in the Karoo Array Processor Building (KAPB) screened room at the site complex, near Carnarvon, in the Northern Cape. It is SKA SA's intention to contract a qualified and reputable service provider to install this equipment and deliver the required services. This will be based on the requirements of the MeerKAT data network product specification document number, M3100-0000-11-14. The scope of this bid encompasses the supply, installation, commissioning and support of networking equipment used in the digital signal processing chain of the MeerKAT telescope system. This includes the switches and a combination of copper and active optic cabling, multimode and single mode optical transceivers and patch cables. The delivered product will be tested against predefined criteria before being accepted.
