ITWeb Brainstorm, in partnership with MTN Business, is seeking nominations for the top chief information officers (CIOs) in South Africa’s public sector.
The ITWeb Brainstorm Public Sector CIO 2025 award recognises excellence in driving IT, overseeing projects and helping to improve service delivery. The organisers are calling on the ICT community to nominate CIOs in South Africa’s public sector who fit the bill. Nominations can be made here.
Nominees must hold the most senior ICT decision-maker position within their organisation, and, over the past 12 months, they must have demonstrated leadership qualities, developed and executed a technology strategy and helped drive service delivery.
Nominations can be made on behalf of a deserving CIO or by a CIO themselves.
Once nominations close, a shortlist will be made and interviews held with candidates. Judges from ITWeb Brainstorm will be joined by the winner of last year’s CIO Decade of Service for Public Sector, Dr Stanley Mpofu from Wits University.
In addition, ITWeb Brainstorm and MTN Business are looking to honour CIOs from the private sector, who must have similarly demonstrated technology leadership excellence over the past 12 months.
The ITWeb Brainstorm Enterprise CIO 2025 judging panel will include the winner of last year’s CIO Decade of Service Award for Enterprise, Louise van der Bank from Afrisam. Nominations for this award can be made here.
The awards will handed out next month at the prestigious Brainstorm CIO Banquet, and will honour the outstanding contributions of SA’s CIOs in both the public and private sectors.
