The Maximus ll Formula from Axiz takes gaming to a new high

Johannesburg, 21 Jul 2008

Axiz has announced the arrival of the ultimate in gaming experiences - the ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) Maximus ll Formula series motherboard.

Equipped with an Intel P45 chipset and supporting DDRll memory, this cutting-edge piece of hardware provides exceptional gaming performances and outstanding audio quality.

Axiz Product Manager for Motherboards and Chassis Glenn Ferreira explains that the superior audio is delivered through an innovatively-designed SupremeFX X-Fi audio card.

The inclusion of groundbreaking CPU Level Up technology allows gamers to obtain flexible CPU boosts - without any complicated setups. Additionally, the Extreme Engine power design provides stable voltages for reliable operations.

"In the ROG Maximus II Formula, the bundled new SupremeFX X-Fi audio card provides gamers with life-like sound effects and 3D surround sounds to fully immerse them into their games," Ferreira says. "With an emphasis on high-quality design, the Supreme FX X-Fi utilises the ADI 2000B audio codec, Creative X-Fi suite, CMSS3D and Crystaliser technologies, and authentic EAX sound effects to produce top-notch virtual 3D surround sounds to bring gamers one step closer to 'really being there'."

CPU Level Up allows gamers to easily obtain CPU boosts to suit their needs through selecting their preferred model from a list in the BIOS. Once it is chosen, the system will do the rest of the work and fine-tune the original processor to run at the speed of the desired CPU.

ASUS's engineering expertise has culminated in the new ROG Extreme Engine, a next-generation multi-phase power design that provides additional overclocking headroom for extreme user experiences.

"Comprising of a 16-phase power design for the CPU, two-phase for memory and three-phase for the north bridge, Extreme Engine will provide users with additional voltage options in the BIOS for higher performances," Ferreira says. "With only the best quality components used, stable power to components provides reliable operations; while a power efficiency of up to 96% and automatic power management ensure less energy is wasted and less heat produced."

The Maximus ll Formula will be on the shelves by the end of July, at a recommended retail price of R3 000 (excl VAT). Contact Glenn Ferreira, Product Manager: Motherboards & Chassis, Axiz, on 011 237 7425.
