The Notebook Company, Stimela Systems sign JV

Johannesburg, 13 Aug 2001

Notebook and accessories retailer, The Notebook Company (www.notebook.co.za), and black empowerment company, Stimela Systems - a company predominately aiming at the previously disadvantaged individual (PDI) - recently signed a joint venture agreement that sees The Notebook Company providing laptops at favourable rates to Stimela`s client base.

This was confirmed by Christopher Riley, general manager of The Notebook Company, who confirmed that the JV had generated R500 000 in the first month.

"While our core business remains the sale and rental of laptops to corporates, small and medium enterprises (SME) and power users, we are always open to JVs that we can feel can add value to our business model," said Riley.

The Notebook Company supplies a wide range of laptops, including Asus, Toshiba, IBM, Compaq, HP and Mecer.
