The Right Fax solution for Fedsure

Fedsure Holdings, one of South Africa`s largest financial services groups has standardised on Goaldata`s RightFAX Enterprise 6.0 as its fax solution. This follows Fedsure`s decision to upgrade and consolidate the group`s existing IT infrastructure.

According to Brandon Beukes, head of process automation at Fedsure group IT, the group is in the process of consolidating its wide area network (WAN), upgrading its workstations, setting standards and deploying a corporate messaging infrastructure. Fedsure are moving away from two existing PC based fax solutions onto the RightFax solution.

"Fedsure has been in the financial services industry for many years and has grown tremendously in the past few years due to a number of changes and recent acquisitions. The group employs approximately 4 500 people and consists of 12 business units in various locations, which obviously complicates system management," says Beukes.

Fedsure was looking for easy-to-manage solutions, including a fax solution, and required a central administration point to manage the system.

"RightFAX Enterprise v6.0 combines the power of multiple RightFAX servers on networks, be it LAN, WAN, Internet or Intranet, and offers redundancy and load-balancing features that let us take advantage of clustering technology.

Enterprise servers work together to share workloads, resources, and fax channels. Intelligent Least Cost Routing (LCR) saves money spent on long-distance and international faxing, while RightFAX Intra-Company LCR bypasses the public switched telephone network entirely," adds Beukes.

RightFAX Enterprise v6.0 emphasise user and administrator control options, including Enterprise Fax manager, a new management tool that allows for centralised administration of all RightFAX servers on the network at one time.

RightFAX Enterprise Suite v6.0 is the fully integrated server-based fax solution designed to meet the needs of the diverse national and global organisations."

The Suite unties RightFAX Enterprise v6.0 with six RightFAX modules: RightFAX Docs on Demand, E-mail Gateway, Web Client, Teleconnect, Enhanced OCR and PDF/Pscript.

"It is less expensive than purchasing the modules separately and comes in one package that loads with one easy installation - truly the most powerful, easiest-to-manage enterprise fax system available," adds Harrison.

"At Fedsure, all fax functionality is available through the Microsoft Outlook client which is becoming a universal inbox for all our users. They can now send and receive e-mails, workflow items and faxes from one easy to use front end. Administration of the system is really easy - fax options, including user fax numbers can be configured in either RightFax or Microsoft Exchange," explains Beukes.

Fedsure is installing RightFax on every user`s desktop. "Our marketing division will be doing mass broadcast faxing with RightFax. We have about 2 500 brokers in our Life Insurance division and we currently send 2 500 faxes out at once. They do a mail merge in Word and that goes through RightFax to all the different brokers` fax machines. We found that far more people (brokers) seem to have fax machines than e-mail addresses. Future plans for the system is to let the system intelligently make decisions whether to fax or to e-mail messages to the destination," concludes Beukes.
