To ensure its graduates are equipped with the highest level of skills, The Unit focuses on providing its students with practical hands-on training in the courses it offers, including the CompTIA (Computing Technology Industry Association) A+ and Network+ certification programmes.
Although The Unit has only been providing computer training since 1999, this Midrand-based academy already boasts a branch office in Hertzog Boulevard, Cape Town.
Besides the popular CompTIA certifications, The Unit also offers training in various IT disciplines, ranging from Intel and MCSE certification, to business skills such as effective communication, presentation skills and supervisory management.
"We decided to equip our students with CompTIA certifications because the association provides a unified voice to the industry in the areas of standards, vendor-neutral certification, service metrics, and public policy," says Keith Anderson, The Unit`s general manager.
"The Unit`s aim is to become a truly strategic education partner to its clients. Our service-orientated approach enables us to formulate and deliver a cost-effective, total training solution," he adds.
The centre also offers customised options to cater for the specific needs of its customers. "We understand the tuition requirements of both the reseller channel and end-users," continues Anderson. "To this end, The Unit`s students benefits from its integrated approach to training, resulting in true value-added service to business through appropriate education."
It is this willingness to go the extra mile that has ensured The Unit`s continued success. "Personal service, together with professional lectures, controlled labs and certified exams, are the reasons our students come back for more," Anderson concludes.
