The Zone Computer Career Campus launches "Spin Zone"

Johannesburg, 11 Jul 2000

As part of an on-going radical marketing campaign, The Zone Computer Career Campus is hosting a series of "Spin Zone" evenings at various popular nightclubs around Gauteng over the next few months. This unique brand-building concept is designed to target the age group of Post-Matric students to whom The Zone markets. The launch evening, in conjunction with 5FM Disc Jockeys Casey B. and Derek The Bandit, was at the Funky Town venue in Kyalami on Saturday 8th July 2000.

"The Zone Computer Career Campus applies radical marketing principles to create brand to its target market of Post-Matric students", says Gary Chalmers, MD of Torque-IT and The Zone, "and what better way to gain mind share and product awareness than with a group of people who are relaxing with their friends and having fun".

Specializing in Post-Matric computer technical training courses, The Zone organized an original evening that kicked off with the highly popular Radio and TV personality Casey B. (recently voted by South Africans as the 2nd most Sexy Woman in the World) doing her magic and getting the party going to an energetic start. After the warm up, Derek The Bandit took over the "Spin Zone" evening with his inimitable style and kept clubbers going into the small hours.

An especially long queue outside Funky Town, all night, confirmed that clubbers were desperate to get into this festive evening, where the mood was vibrant with excitement and sexy fun. An electrifying laser show, inside and outside the venue, added to the latest modern entertainment throughout the evening.

The Zone Spin `Doctor` and his two naughty `Nurses` took clubbers` photos in the venue during the entire evening. Now, if clubbers can spot their picture on The Zone Web Site - www.thezone.co.za during this week, they could be in line to win super prizes.

The Zone is planning to host a series of Club evenings in association with 5FM in Gauteng in the coming months, with celebrity hosts, competitions and a lot of fun.

"These club evenings will contribute to The Zone`s growing brand awareness amongst this targeted age group", affirms Craig Ridgard, Director of The Zone.
