IT solutions and services provider Hewlett-Packard has launched a rebate programme which will see customers earning discounts on the new generation of HP printers by trading in their old equipment - no matter what make or age.
The offer, which runs until 31 December, will see the price of the top of the range HP laserjet 550 reduced by up to R4 600 in exchange for the buyer`s old printer. At the other end of the range, buyers will be able to get up to R800 off the price of the HP 2200D.
HP`s Ashley Flinders, Imaging and Printers Product manager, says the programme - designed to grab a bigger slice of the competitive South African laser printer market - offers end-users a genuine opportunity to recover value on their existing equipment.
"This trade-in programme is a superb way for our customers to more affordably upgrade their printers," said Flinders. "In addition to being faster and more rugged, the newer models can take advantage of technological advances in media and software."
Traded-in printers are either refurbished for later sale on a second-hand basis, or are broken down and either scrapped or used for spare parts, said Flinders, adding that, if the printers are scrapped, then they are scrapped using ecologically sound methods, rather than simply dumped.
"Chances are that people taking advantage of this offer have old laser printers that just aren`t getting the job done like they should," said Flinders. "Their existing equipment is too slow, unreliable, and too expensive to maintain. The new range of equipment offers excellent print quality for all classes of users at extremely competitive total cost of ownership."
