Thermaltake Technology`s latest version of its Big Typhoon thermal cooler series, Big Typhoon VX, offers improved performance while utilising a tool-less locking system for simplified mounting.
Available from official South African distributor Corex, the Big Typhoon VX is suitable for Intel Socket LGA775, AMD Socket AM2, and standard K8 processors.
The cooler, like its predecessor, features equal-length heatpipe technology for enhanced heat transfer that directs the heat from the core to the fins smoothly.
Furthermore, the Big Typhoon VX utilises a 120mm manually adjustable fan that spins from 1300 to 2500rpm. The lowest audio output is 16 dBA, and users can adjust the speed of the fan according to their preference and needs. On the fan, there is also a vortex fan grill to prevent users from accidentally tampering with the fins.
"This latest version of Big Typhoon enables gamers and PC users to easily and effectively control the thermal status of their machines. It`s extremely easy to mount and will make a considerable difference to the overall processor cooling," says David dos Santos, Thermaltake product manager at Corex.
Additional Big Typhoon VX features include:
* High-density aluminium fins;
* Seamless soldering process and large copper base for optimised heat conductivity;
* Waved fins to reduce wind shear noise; and
* Adjustable fan control to boost cooling performance.
