Three-in-one BCM solution unveiled

Archer Technologies, a provider of enterprise governance, and solutions (E-GCR), has unveiled its advanced business continuity management (BCM) solution, reports WebSphere Journal.

It combines business continuity, disaster recovery and crisis management functions into a single product offering.

Archer says, as the only solution provider to deliver this three-in-one approach, it is empowering Fortune 1000 companies and government agencies to "operationalise" their GRC programmes through the seamless integration of business continuity management into their IT-GRC and E-GRC initiatives.

EMS adds virtual machine management

EMC has introduced virtualisation-aware capabilities for its Clariion CX4 midrange networked storage systems, which make CX4 software and disaster recovery applications aware of connected virtual machines, states Computerworld.

The company also announced the availability of native 10Gbps Ethernet connectivity for the Clariion CX4 arrays, which will boost the used to support virtual server environments and iSCSI, or Internet SCSI, storage architectures.

Ruya Atac-Barrett, director of Clariion product marketing at EMC, said the upgrade to 10Gbps Ethernet would be seamless for current Clariion CX4 owners.

IBM brings faster storage

IBM has unveiled its latest midrange storage array, the IBM System Storage DS5020 Express, which will be available in September, according to Computerworld.

The DS5020 Express will support all current IBM premium features, including partitioning, FlashCopy for point-in-time copies of logical volumes or data sets, VolumeCopy for data migration between arrays, and enhanced remote mirroring for disaster recovery and business continuity applications.

The company says the new offering is designed for mid-size companies in the retail, healthcare, insurance and manufacturing industries, among others, as well as government agencies that need to securely analyse an ever-increasing flow of data.
