Tibco buys out DataSynapse
Tibco has acquired DataSynapse for $27.7 million in a bid to boost its role in cloud computing, reports InformationWeek.
Forrester Research analyst John Rymer says Tibco is making an aggressive play to move beyond its traditional middleware messaging role into cloud computing. In June it announced its Silver application-building platform.
Silver is intended to address deployment and governance issues of Java or C applications intended for cloud computing.
Deutsche Telekom drives
Deutsche Telekom has entrusted Verizon Business to help ensure that T-Pay, Deutsche Telekom's online-payment system, achieves compliance with the international Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DDS), says PR-USA.net.
T-Pay is the Internet payment system for all Deutsche Telekom subsidiaries in Germany, including T-Mobile and T-Home.
The company says compliance with the global PCI DSS, which is designed to protect credit card data from misuse, is business-critical.
Risk management to hit $1.68bn
Chartis Research reveals the worldwide operational risk management (ORM) market is poised for an annual growth rate of 6.9% and is set to hit $1.68 billion by 2013, says the Gulf Daily News.
Reflecting the projected global growth, the Middle East is also expected to witness an increase in demand for risk management solutions.
The Operational Risk Management Systems 2009 report cited several other drivers of ORM growth, including the rising demand from emerging economies, especially in specific vertical segments such as insurance, asset and fund management, and brokerage dealership and governance, risk management and compliance.
