
Tibco shares leap
Shares of Tibco Software have jumped more than 11% on the business software maker's better-than-expected quarterly numbers, reports Business Week.
Revenue jumped 21% to $173.3 million while industry analysts expected the figure to reach $161.4 million.
Pacific Crest Securities analysts claim the BPM solution provider's high numbers are a sign that companies are feeling more confident about spending on business technology, following last year's recession.
Pegasystems, TCS partner
BPM vendors Pegasystems and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), have signed a strategic global alliance, states Market Watch.
The Pegasystems and TCS alliance aims to build BPM platform solutions for vertical markets.
Michele Cantara, vice-president of research at Gartner, says: "The growth trajectory in the market has presented many opportunities for BPM software vendors and systems integrators to work together to meet the demands that today's global organisations require.”
Yahoo drives Oozie workflow engine
Yahoo has added security features and its Oozie workflow engine to Hadoop, the open source software framework for crunching large amounts of data, says ZDNet.
Yahoo has contributed Oozie, used to manage and coordinate tasks running on Hadoop, to the open source project.
Oozie was developed by Yahoo to manage its own workloads with complex processes on a large scale, and the company says it has tested and deployed it on tens of thousands of its servers.
