Tiscali develops IVR platform for `What`s in the Box?`

Johannesburg, 16 Sep 2003

The mobile division of Tiscali has entered into a venture with TC3 (The Convergent Communications Corp) and Kellogg`s to develop, deploy and maintain the three IVR call-in lines for Kellogg`s "Instant Win Card" and "Lucky Draw" promotion running between August and October.

Tiscali is also a prize sponsor in this promotion, the third of its kind being run by Kellogg`s, offering R250 000 worth of prizes consisting of cellular phone handsets, airtime and Internet dial-up connectivity.

"The promotion, popular among kids, involves Kellogg`s having inserted instant win cards and lucky draw numbers in five million Corn Flakes boxes. Consumers purchasing any of these boxes will win instant prizes by calling the IVR line and quoting their unique pin number. Lucky draw numbers can also be registered for entry into the monthly draw to win one of the many other prizes on offer, such as cars and digital cameras," says Natalie Thayer, general manager, portal, at Tiscali.

The first of the competition lines is an Instant Prize Line, an IVR platform into which consumers call to register their details and win one of the instant prizes. The Lucky Draw Line offers consumers the option to register their lucky numbers to be eligible for a monthly prize selection. The third, a retailer and fulfilment line, is an IVR application that will be made available to participating retailers to register and verify prize-winners.

Tiscali is also supplying call centre support for callers who experience any difficulties. "Our participation in this promotion is evidence of our expertise in the local wireless application service provider (WASP) market and demonstrates our ability to deliver competitive IVR services," Thayer adds.
