AMKA Products vision is to achieve industry best practises in producing and selling its products. As one the largest provider of FMCG products and services in South Africa there is a customer, supplier and community expectation of quality service and value.
To continue to enjoy this trust and support, AMKA Products is committed to continuous improvement in all its business activities particularly the procurement of goods and services.
In 2001 AMKA Products undertook a major review of all aspects of its Business Strategy. This initiative led to the incorporation of an e-Business strategy and the identification of alpha applications that could support its supply chain process, namely e-Service and e-Procurement.
In July 2004 Tlhakano Technology Solutions was invited to assist AMKA Products in preparing an e-Procurement business case which would be used as the basis for implementing an e-Procurement solution. Tlhakano Technology Solutions engaged with various key stakeholders within AMKA Products to compile the e-Procurement Business case. This key deliverables of this assignment included the following:
* E-Procurement Business Case
* E-Procurement ROI Analysis
* Procurement Spend Analysis
AMKA Products has recognised that the Internet has established itself as the primary network used for business interaction. The Internet has unlimited potential for communicating between suppliers, customers and partners. An attractive aspect of the Internet is that it enables end user control of information and allows suppliers to access data when and where they need it rather than depending on intermediaries. Whilst web technology is viable and cost effective with universal access it also offers an appealing alternative to the traditional tendering process.
"Tlhakano has assisted AMKA superbly in achieving the definition of the Group`s Supply Chain strategic objectives" Mushtaq Dawood, Procurement Manager AMKA Products (Pty) Ltd
