CS Interactive Training is pleased to announce its new certificate in Enterprise Analysis & Architecture in collaboration with the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. The certificate course is designed to help all architects, business analysts and other IT professionals who are already certified in TOGAF, Zachman, PEAF (or any other architecture framework) apply their knowledge in a practical manner.

I was fortunate enough to have trained hundreds of South African IT professionals on The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) since the launch of the framework in 2009, using the certified TOGAF curriculum. Despite the wide-scale adoption of the TOGAF standard by individuals, I still receive a number of requests for a course on how to apply the framework within a business context, says Louw Labuschagne, information architect, IT consultant and trainer.

In response to these requests, CS Interactive Training created the certificate in Enterprise Analysis & Architecture, a unique approach that combines a Sparx Enterprise Architect modelling licence with a set of templates, approach and modelling standard.

The course is presented over a period of two months using practical case studies. It is divided into four modules with each module running over a two-week period, consisting of a day's training session, three Webinars and practical e-learning modules. The course follows a flipped classroom approach, where delegates are required to do pre-reading and assignments on their own, and collaborate in the classroom and online.

At the end of the course, delegates will be able to configure the Sparx Enterprise Architect repository, use the Business Information Services Library to identify demand-side information processes, create architecture views based on ISO 42010 to address stakeholder concerns, use the TOGAF 9 ADM to complete the set of deliverables templates, and model artefacts using the ArchiMate modelling notation.

The first course for 2015 starts in February, and only analysts or architects with an architecture certification or 12 months' experience in the field will be allowed to participate.
