Matus, a division of JSE-listed Brandcorp, is a leading wholesale distributor in the tools and hardware industry and has successfully implemented Rapid Trade, the Internet-based sales automation solution from Orange One.
According to Mike Solomon, Sales Director at Matus: "Rapid Trade is enabling us to provide product and price information to our customers and to receive orders at any time. Key issues for us were ease of use and integration with our back-end system. Currently more than 50 of the biggest hardware stores in Southern Africa are trading with Matus via the Rapid Trade platform."
Rapid Trade is a cross-industry solution suitable for wholesale distributors and dominant suppliers. It is developed using the Microsoft .NET platform.
"Due to the diverse systems being used and the ease of deploying Web services, the Microsoft .NET platform was the only way to go," explains Willem Hoek, Operations Director at Orange One. He also indicated that a PDA version of Rapid Trade would be released before year-end.
