Integrated network management, asset management, software delivery and remote control enable Bank Bali to boost end-user service levels.

Computer Associates International, Inc (CA), the world`s leading provider of e-business management solutions, today announced that Indonesia`s Bali is implementing CA`s acclaimed Unicenter solutions to improve its IT service levels while reducing the ongoing cost of its technology operations.

Bank Bali, a national exchange bank with 235 branch offices throughout Indonesia, selected Unicenter over competing vendors` products because of its comprehensive functionality, intuitive interfaces and broad support for the bank`s diverse enterprise technology resources.

In the recently completed first phase of implementation, the bank deployed Unicenter Asset Management, Unicenter Software Delivery and Unicenter Remote Control. Together, these integrated solutions are enabling Bank Bali to more efficiently manage its infrastructure and deploy software. Bank Bali can now remotely install new products, carry out software upgrades, and perform remote troubleshooting without having to send out its IT staff. The Unicenter solutions also enable Bank Bali to proactively diagnose and resolve system issues before they impact the end-users.

Bank Bali is also utilising CA`s award-winning eTrust Antivirus solution to safeguard its business-critical network environment.

"Unicenter provides us with very powerful tools for managing our PCs, so that we can maximise the performance and uptime of our end-users," said YB Hariantono, Group Head IT. "It also enables us to improve by automatically updates of our anti-virus signature files."

This new approach to resource management is a decided improvement over the bank`s previous practices - sending a team of 15 IT specialists to spend two weeks in each location and physically visit each of the bank`s computers to install new products, carry out software upgrades and to perform maintenance tasks - a costly, time-consuming process.

Unicenter Asset Management provides Bank Bali`s IT personnel with a daily inventory of each PC`s software, memory and available drive space. This valuable information allows them to rapidly configure software and resolve most user problems without having to leave their desks. Unicenter Asset Management also helps the Bank Bali IT staff to prioritise maintenance tasks by flagging problem computers, full disk drives, unauthorised software and other issues for immediate attention.

"In an information-based economy, effective management of critical IT infrastructure is a key competitive consideration," said Piti Pramotedham, CA`s managing director for Southeast Asia. "It is gratifying that a dynamic financial institution such as Bank Bali has chosen CA`s Unicenter to provide this essential management capability and thus improve its bottom line business performance."
