Toshiba enhances home entertainment with new Satellite P20

Toshiba has announced new enhancements to its range of Satellite P20 notebooks, which now feature an integration of stereo and PC capabilities in one notebook.

The Satellite P20 series, available from Rectron, also comes equipped with NVIDIA`s latest GeForce FX Go5700 graphics that deliver high calibre video, enhanced graphics and multimedia features, therefore, offering theatre-quality images when playing video games or watching movies. Also, built-in harmon/kardon speakers and SRS TruSurround XT technology enable high quality audio.

"The P20 series is the ideal replacement system for users who need a portable PC without sacrificing the performance of a desktop computer," comment Andr'e Rossouw, Toshiba product manager at Rectron.

"With its 17-inch wide-screen display and high-quality graphics, the Satellite P20 series is ideal for watching movies, playing video games or multi-tasking in several windows at once."

Toshiba`s Satellite P20 also features WiFi connectivity (802.11b and g) as well as DVD+RW functionality - one of the first notebooks to offer a Dual DVD writer.

Rossouw comments: "The Satellite P20 is the ultimate digital convergence of home entertainment, multimedia functionality and business features combined in a mobile computing platform."

The notebook also features Intel`s Pentium 4 processor with HT Technology (Hyper-Threading), offering powerful computing due to the maximisation of processor units - one single processor can run two separate threads of software simultaneously.
