Toshiba releases notebook with double-digit battery life

Johannesburg, 18 Mar 2004

Rectron has introduced Toshiba`s next-generation lightweight notebook PC, the Tecra M2, which is designed specifically for those South African corporate and SMEs that require mobility and connectivity without sacrificing performance.

Weighing just 2.26kg, the Tecra M2 is up to 20% lighter than its predecessor and features impressive battery life - up to 11.5 hours.

"The Tecra M2`s battery life is indeed a bonus as it enables users to work wirelessly for hours, without having to worry about to recharging it every second hour," comments Andr'e Rossouw, Toshiba product manager at Rectron.

Packaged in a silver chassis, the Tecra M2 features a 14.1-inch TFT XGA display, NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5200 32M and 64M graphics controller (includes Bluetooth, 10/100/1000 Base-TX Ethernet LAN and IEEE 1394 Firewire port) and offers users high-performance graphics for displaying detailed design and high-powered presentations in the office and on the road.

In addition, the Tecra M2 features the latest Intel Pentium M Processor as well as support for Slim SelectBay accessories.

Toshiba also continues its commitment to reducing TCO by incorporating support for common docking with its Toshiba Advanced Port Replicator III (APRIII) docking solutions, while at the same time offering backward compatibility for APRI and APRII.
