Toshiba unleashes Android 3.1 tablet
Toshiba has joined the tablet game with its new Thrive, which is based on the Google Android 3.1 Honeycomb, reports The Mobile Indian.
The tablet, aimed to compete with Apple and Samsung in the market, comes with 1280x800 screen resolution, a rear-facing 5.0MP, a front-facing 2.0MP camera for video chat, Swype input, USB and HDMI ports, integrated GPS, memory expansion via microSD. Moreover, the tablet will support Adobe Flash says Ecommerce Journal.
Toshiba File Manager and PrinterShare come preloaded on the Thrive Tablet. The PrinterShare software will make it easier to print from the tablet to a printer.
Also loaded on the tablet are five customisable home pages. The tablet has Google mobile apps such as YouTube, Gmail, Google Maps, Music, Videos and more. This tablet has connection to the Android Market to purchase apps according The Tech Herald.
There is a 8GB Thrive Tablet retailing for around $430, a 16GB version, which is selling for around $480, and a 32GB version that is retailing for $580, according to examiner.com.
