Toshiba`s newly released Qosmio G20, now available from South African distributor Rectron, builds on the success of the Qosmio series with a new chassis design in black lacquer that certainly sets it apart from anything else currently available.
Featuring 17-inch LiteBrite screen with its 500NITS brightness, the notebook offers more than twice the brightness of a standard TFT panel.
The release of the Qosmio G20 also follows hot on the heels of Toshiba`s 20th year anniversary of the launch of its first portable PC that featured an Intel 286 processor.
The Qosmio G20 is not only about a new look and outward features, inside the case Toshiba has opted for the 915 chipset, which offers faster bandwidth and also support for PCI-Express. Additionally, it features ATi Mobility Radeon X600 graphics card for the latest gaming experiences.
The styling of the chassis incorporates a volume dial on the right-hand side for getting the sound right. As the dial is software linked, the user won`t need to fiddle with any other settings.
Comments Andr'e Rossouw, Toshiba product manager at Rectron: "One of the most impressive aspects of the G20 is the sound quality, Toshiba has certainly made the most of the Harmon/Kardon speakers, making watching DVDs something a little special."
The G20`s front-loading DVD rewriter also has a new look.
Other Qosmio G20 features include:
* Immersive video graphics that come to life with the QosmioEngine, the innovative video system for bright, clear and crisp images in vivid colour;
* Digital entertainment at the touch of a button with intuitive design and features of the QosmioPlayer and AV control buttons; and
* Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition or Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005.
