Total printer management control with Oki`s PrintSuperVision.net

Johannesburg, 10 Sep 2003

Oki, the business printed communications specialist, recently launched the new version of its free printer management tool PrintSuperVision. Utilising the latest .Net technology, this highly efficient application provides IT managers, dealers and systems integrators with vital information and management functions to increase printer productivity.

PrintSuperVision:

* Runs on the .Net platform;

* Allows dealers to centrally manage printers of their clients;

* Enables end-users to automatically order consumables;

* Gives IT managers the ability to remotely manage their printers from anywhere in the world;

* Provides administrators with management IS reports in the format required; and

* Is easy to use with three levels of viewing: easy, professional and advanced.

This network printer management software can be easily accessed via any normal Internet browser interface on the network. Network access permitting, the system can be used from anywhere in the world, even over the Internet-allowing true remote real-time management.

Administrators and user can search and view printers grouped in lists, by status, on maps, floor plans, by location, or by features from the easy-to-use web browser interface of PrintSuperVision. By using this interface, administrators can also change the configurations of existing printers and clone settings from one printer to many. This ensures that all the printers have the same set-up but also reduces the administrator`s workload.

For outsourced IT management, the support team can use PrinterSuperVision to manage multiple sites within or via access through corporate firewalls. The necessary data can be remotely provided by an agent from within the firewall.

PrintSuperVision can also help with the compiling of management IS reports. These can be instantly generated in a variety of formats showing statistics such as total printer costs, daily usage by printer, department or organisation and the current status of the printer and consumables. PrintSuperVision has also enhanced its calendar function, which provides a snapshot of the work undertaken by printers. For example, viewers can see the toners that have been added or service call out, including cost (where appropriate) on month-by-month basis. The calendar will also help managers plan future consumable requirements and services.

The virtual stock cupboard features, coupled with the predictive consumable usage function, ensure the office always has the necessary consumables for replacement on hand. This can be set up to automatically re-order product directly from the supplier at the press of a button or a notification can be sent to remind the user that stocks are low.

The IS support resource enables key staff to manage their own printers more effectively. Alerts can be set up to e-mail certain users to insert paper, change toner or bring their attention to the current status of the printer.

These and many more features make PrintSuperVision the ideal support partner for management of Oki printers in the office. It reduces printer management time for staff, thus increasing staff productivity. This in turn decreases costs and provides a better level of service from printers.
