Traditional methods fail to fill PM skills gap
A new report by Forrester research says while organisations have struggled with a shortage of project management skills for years, traditional methods to fill the gap continue to fall short, reports Projects@work (registration required).
The report, called "Trends 2007: Hot IT Skill Areas", which involved 281 IT decision-makers, says IT professionals with project management, security and architecture skills will be targeted for recruiting in 2007.
Change management, service management and vendor management will be training priorities within enterprise IT.

PMT offers IT Infrastructure Library training
Project Management Training says it now provides six online courses on the popular subject of IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) foundations, says openPR.
The courses provide 16 contact hours of interactive online training on the topic of ITIL, and provide project management personnel the opportunity to earn between two and four PDUs for each course.
John Reiling, president of Project Management Training Online, says ITIL offers a structured approach to managing IT infrastructure. It is a good option for corporate IT professionals who want to improve their management skills across the spectrum of IT functions, he adds.
