Integrat is a wireless application service provider aggregator providing gateway services between the cellular network operators and our clients. Our client 2Big Mobile launched the traffic fine service on 17 January 2006.
We have established that the unexpected large amount of responses generated by this service is causing a processing delay at our client`s application layer. The delays are not caused by the networks or by the gateway services. Below is a statement from our client Lucky Seuoe who can be contacted on 082 556 5289.
"We are aware of the delays the public has been experiencing in getting responses to SMSes sent to the number 36997 to query their traffic fines for Johannesburg. The delays were caused by the huge volumes that were not anticipated on the day of the launch. We would like to assure the public that all SMS messages sent to the number 36997 will be responded to as soon as the queues have been reduced."
Integrat has intervened and is assisting 2Big Mobile in resolving the issue by improving the application`s performance shortcoming. Integrat has managed to help unblock the flow of responses back to the public by adding a slight delay into the system resulting in a response that has been perceived by the public as a degraded or non-functional performance. We expect our assistance will help to get the system functional as soon as possible.
