Training companies can take offering online with minimal fuss, create revenue off current training assets

Johannesburg, 09 Jul 2009

SkillCentric specialises in helping training companies go online. For companies that have never ventured in this direction, it may sound daunting, risky and expensive.

"Not the case!" says Shaun Lake of SkillCentric. "I have done this many times over and I can, without hesitation, say that this is neither risky, daunting or expensive! Let me take you down this road and you will be pleasantly surprised how simple, robust and powerful your offering can be."

Why would a training company want to go this route in any event? "There are so many reasons," says Lake. The most appealing must be a new revenue stream off current training assets.

Lake explains how SkillCentric assisted a small company a few months back, which specialises in offering learnerships to industry. Since implementing the SkillCentric approach, the company is now able to offer its product nationwide. It has already added R1.5 million in new revenue to its turnover in the past four months. "This level was not in their sites as recently as six months ago," claims Lake. Within the space of two months they had their entire course offering online and were signing up clients by the third month.

Let`s look at some of the compelling reasons for a training company to develop an online offering. Aside from the fact that it opens up a jewellery box of new business, online training has other very clear advantages. For starters, an online offering removes the constraints of time and space. Courses can start any time, from anywhere. "Your students could hail from Cairo to Cape Town," says Lake, who has implemented projects out of Japan, Switzerland, Spain, USA and Canada. "I have never met my clients, yet we got their training going with no problem," says Lake. This must sound too good to be true for companies who regularly have to postpone courses due to scheduling difficulties, or because they were unable to fill the course.

The good news is still to come! "It`s only once a company really starts down this road do they begin to see the true benefits of online learning," says Lake. These revolve around the amazing transparency gained from online training, high levels of efficiency in the use of resources, with new options to use part-time and retired trainers wherever they may live. Best of all, an online approach alleviates much of that onerous and time-consuming training administration. "You will be surprised how the intensity and quality of your offering can actually increase," says Lake.

Any training company with great materials, a good track record and established client base should contact Skillcentric immediately to arrange a presentation. "We will have you online in no time at all," says Lake with a grin.
