CB Technologies, trading as TrainSA.com, is the first company to provide on-line, Web-based training for Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional for South African on-line learners.

As the authorised reseller for USA-based Learn2.com, TrainSA.com now offers five courses designed to cover all aspects of Windows 2000 Professional version and includes Installation & Configuration; Getting Acquainted; Functionality; and Desktop Management.

Says Brian Andrew, managing director of TrainSA.com, "Our achievement as the first South African on-line training service provider to offer Windows 2000 courses on the Web underscores the successful partnership with Learn2.com, which is the acknowledged leader in on-line training in the USA. Learn2.com maintains partnerships with some of the world`s leading corporations including IBM, AOL, Great Plains, Dell and Honeywell. TrainSA.com is able to release new courseware as and when it becomes available internationally, delivering up-to-date material to our subscriber base quickly and cost-effectively."

"Our partnership offers a number of other advantages for users as well. Learn2.com utilises its own patented streaming technology to deliver multimedia content to the user`s PC. Using a single stream to deliver content, the bandwidth overheads are considerably lower, requiring only a minimum of 2,1kbps for CD quality multimedia with minimal time delay."

Says Andrew, "With more and more pressure being placed on companies to provide training for their employees, Web-based and on-line training is proving to be the most cost-effective and easiest method to achieve this goal. For example, all five Windows 2000 Professional courses, for a single user, would cost about R350 excluding VAT compared to conventional classroom-based methods which can cost from R400 to R600 per course."

In addition to the latest Windows 2000 Professional courses, TrainSA.com maintains a vast training library on a variety of other products from vendors such as Microsoft, Corel, Adobe and Symantec and covering a broad range of subjects from programming and graphics to desktop training, finance and more. Courses are presented with a rich multimedia content and are available on 24-hours, 7-days-a-week on a subscriber basis with site discounts available according to the number of users. The company offers courseware that is Internet and Intranet-based as well as CD-based training for everyone from the home and small business user to large corporate clients.
