Transcend Information, made available to the local market by official distributor Rectron, has updated its high capacity StoreJet 2.5 portable hard drive with new security and backup features.
StoreJet 2.5 now features the StoreJet Software Pack: ExBoot Express, PC Lock, Security HDD, My Documents, Mobile Internet Explorer Favorites, Mobile Outlook Express and Address Book Editor.
ExBoot, for example, provides full backup and synchronisation with user PCs, while the PC Lock and Security HDD functionalities keep data private and secure. Mobile Internet Explorer Favourites and Mobile Outlook Express allow users to take their important e-mail messages anywhere.

Transcend`s StoreJet is compatible with all hard disk makers and supports Windows 98/98SE/Me/2000/XP, Mac OS 9.0 or later. Compliant with USB 2.0 specification and backwards compatible with USB 1.1, StoreJet has a maximum 480Mbps (60MBps) data transfer rate and LEDs to indicate power and data transmission.
StoreJet also uses a separate USB cable to directly power the hard drive. The drive is available with a 2.5-inch 40GB or 80GB capacity pre-installed HDD, or no HDD to allow installation of a HDD with up to 80GB capacity.
