Transcend`s T-sonic MP3 player - the next step in the digital music evolution

Johannesburg, 18 Jul 2006

Transcend Information`s recently released T-sonic 520 Flash MP3 Player now offers karaoke-type features that will encourage the soloist in each of us to sing along to the displayed lyrics of your favourite song.

Available from official distributor Rectron, the T-sonic player supports all popular music formats that include MP3, WMA and WAV while offering additional features such as a FM radio, digital voice recorder and line-in function for recording from CD.

The T-sonic 520 has a mirrored faceplate, measures only 74mm x 30mm x 18.5mm and weighs a mere 28g (minus battery). Its user-friendly design also means that transferring music to the player is really simple - connect the unit to your computer and drag and drop your digital music.

Adds Michael Hann, Transcend product manager at Rectron: "The T-sonic 520`s FM radio can preset and record your 20 favourite stations. Also, an added benefit, the digital voice recorder can be used to record memos."

Other product features include:
* A-B repeat function allows you to continuously replay a designated section of a track;
* Variable track playback speeds;
* Supports 12 user languages including song/artist name display;
* USB flash drive capabilities for data transfer and storage;
* Bundled software can be used to lock your computer and setup password protection for your files;
* Self-luminous colour OLED display produces a vibrant clear display, easily viewed at any angle and in any light;
* Seven equaliser effects, including a customisable USER EQ setting;
* Hi-speed USB 2.0 compliant and USB 1.1 backwards compatible;
* Jog-wheel control;
* Powered using a AAA battery (one AAA battery supports over 15 hours of continuous operation);
* Auto-powers off after two, 10, or 30 minutes of no usage; and
* Automatic screen saver runs if the unit is idle for more than a few seconds - this acts as a battery saving measure.
