Acer has announced the TravelMate 270, an all-in-one mobile PC featuring solid performance and comprehensive connectivity. Packaged in a stylish chassis, this Mobile Pentium 4 machine handles all business applications with ease.
The compact chassis integrates all storage media types, allowing for simultaneous use of FDD, HDD and optical drive (DVD-ROM or DVD/CD-RW combo) without any hassle of handling external devices, cables and connectors. The product is able to handle all demanding business applications, be it large worksheets, resource demanding mainframe, client front-end applications, host emulations, multimedia applications, or convenient multi-tasking with all of aforementioned.
The 270 offers ample memory headroom of up to 1024 MB, a range of professional operating systems as well as sufficient storage space starting at 20GB. These features ensure flexibility, efficiency, fast results and a hassle-free experience with no interruptions or prolonged loading time.

The notebook`s embedded 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet card enables speedy connections, while a built-in LAN ensures connection to a standard office network. Access to a wireless LAN is easily accomplished by either adding a wireless LAN card via the PCMCIA slot or using the internal IEEE 802.11b wireless LAN capability (optional). To ensure communication from virtually anywhere, a built-in international 56K ITU V.90 data/fax modem allows users to connect over a phone line from any country with PTT approval.
This mobile computer also offers broad functionality by way of comprehensive I/O connections, including three USB ports, and S-video TV-out port, and IEEE 1394 FireWire port, as well as ports allowing connection to printers, USB flash memory, scanners, a keyboard and mouse.
