Two product performers for personal use or small office workgroups are launched

Johannesburg, 24 May 2002

Kyocera Mita South Africa introduces the new KM-1510 and KM-1810 two product performers ideal for personal use or small office workgroups. The KM-1510 offers an impressive 15 CPM (copies-per-minute), while the KM-1810 offers 18 CPM. Each offers 600 x 600 DPI (dots-per-inch) delivering high-quality images, crisp text and rich blacks with every copy.

"Both the KM-1510 and KM-1810 strengthen the Kyocera Mita `product suite` of low-volume imaging solutions. At present, the Kyocera Mita line offers the KM-1530, KM-2030. With these two new additions, Kyocera Mita delivers to its valued customers compelling low-cost digital solutions." stated Wayne Holborn, Sales & Marketing Manager, Kyocera Mita South Africa.

Productivity, speed & paper utilization

Whether utilized as a personal or small workgroup digital copier/ printer, both the KM-1510 and KM-1810 fit the bill. With upgradeable memory to 16 MB on the KM-1510 and 16 MB standard on the KM-1810, both provide warm-up times in less than thirty seconds and deliver the first copy out time in a mere 6.3 seconds, A4 size. Standard paper capacity is a 250-sheet drawer and 50-sheet stack bypass. A single sheet document processor comes standard on the KM-1510, and a 30-sheet ADF on the KM-1810 offers increased productivity. Each prints or copies onto letterhead, transparencies and mailing labels, through the bypass.

Print capabilities, magnification & "scan once, print many"

Both models offer superior print capabilities including the new embedded Kyocera Controller, power PC Processor PC405/200MHz. The 1510 and 1810 offer 8 MB of print memory. Both models, when fully configured offer 136 MB of powerful printing memory on line. Both are fully operational in Windows 9x/NT/2000, Macintosh 7.6.1/8x. Print magnification is 50-200% zoom in auto, photo and text modes.

Adding memory to the KM-1510/KM-1810 enables "scan once, print many" copying and electronic sorting. Since output is from memory, electronically collated document sets can be produced without the expense of a mechanical sorter. With the "rotate sort" feature, document sets are automatically separated for users.

Energy efficient

The KM-1510 and KM-1810 are Energy Star compliant. When inactive, they will automatically "power down," reducing electrical consumption and cutting operational costs for users. The KM-1510 / KM-1810 are available from authorized Kyocera Mita Dealers Nationwide. For more information, users can call 0800 600 079, toll free.
