TYAN and Intel announced its strategic alliance at Computex 2008 with the aim of promoting Intel's Xeon series platforms and reinforcing the long-term relationships between the two companies.
Executives from Intel and TYAN have announced the cooperation together to recognise and honour the partnership.
TYAN's focus is to develop, design, manufacture and market innovative platforms and solutions in order to meet the demands and requirements of the IT industry.
TYAN's platforms and solutions offer high performing, stable and efficient products for the IT industry's workstation and server applications. From the early stage of Pentium III processors to the latest family of Intel Xeon processors and platforms, both TYAN and Intel have been working closely together in order to maintain a good collaborating partnership in designing, manufacturing and marketing current and next generation solutions for the IT industry. The Intel Qualified Server Board programme is an example of this continuing partnership.
The Intel Qualified Server Board programme (IQSB) is a joint pilot programme with the goal of providing the latest products from TYAN that are verified to meet product support requirements specified by Intel, in order to offer the best platforms and solutions to the IT industry.
Among IQSB are other partner strategies that TYAN is eager to promote in order to provide multiple high quality products to address the demands and requirements of the IT industry.
Both TYAN Tempest S5396 and Tempest S5393 are validated solutions within the pilot phase of the Intel Qualified Server Board programme, which underwent various testing by TYAN to meet certain product support requirements specified by Intel. These two platforms have support for the Intel Xeon processor 5400 series and Intel Xeon 5400 series chipset. This new powerful processor supports up to 12MB of L2 cache, dramatically improving platform computing. The platform's I/O expansion slot also features an upgrade to Gen 2 (true x16) PCI Express performance. These two boards are dual-socket workstation boards that feature eight or 16 memory slots and onboard Firewire 1394 interface.
TYAN showcased its Intel Xeon-based platforms in a live demo during Computex 2008. Visit TYAN's Web site at www.tyan.com for more information on the TYAN Tempest S5393, Tempest S5396 and TYAN latest platforms.
