The Thunder K8WE (S2895) recently released by Tyan Computer Corporation has already proven its grit within the scalable, high-end system board manufacturing market.
Simon Pretorius, Server Division manager at Annex Distribution, says the product will be available to the local market shortly and is ideally positioned to support next-generation platforms and the system demands from workstation and server applications.
The S2895 features dual PCI Express 16x slots with full 16x speed on each slot, support for dual AMD Opteron 200 series processors with 32-bit and 64-bit power and Dual-Core, integrated dual Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports and ActiveArmor support and built-in multi-channel audio. Also included are four SATA II compatible ports for high-speed storage with RAID 0,1 capabilities.
"The product features 16x slots with full 16x speed, which is a rare commodity and very central to the board`s overall performance. It speeds up the workstation significantly and is competitively priced. This is a very hot product for us and we are excited about its impact on the market," adds Pretorius.
"Tyan is an exciting brand with much to offer the market. This latest product is indicative of its capability, market experience and resources, the value of which we will continue to deliver to the local ICT market," he concludes.
