UK SMEs ditch landline for VOIP

protocol (VOIP) services, with 41% actively using VOIP according to Telappliant research, Mobile Entertainment reports.

Around 68% of surveyed respondents say they use VOIP to reduce telephone bills, while 22% claim that it would allow more flexibility to work from out of the office.

The study, which questioned 100 UK businesses from a variety of industries, showed that 41% of UK companies are already actively using VOIP to improve efficiencies within their business, Business and Leadership states.

According to Telappliant, a further 25% of UK SMEs plan to review and implement VOIP within the next 12 months.

Tan Aksoy, Telappliant CEO, points out that VOIP telephony has come a long way forward, VOIP Monitor says.

“With advanced telephony features usually only found on high-end phone systems, VOIP gives SMEs a range of tools to compete more effectively with their larger competitors,” notes Aksoy.

“Functionality such as audio conferencing, call recording and interactive virtual receptionists that automatically route calls to the correct department will enable businesses to work smarter and more efficiently.”
