Iteology can now provide accounts for 4Mbps (R499), 512Kbps (R299) and 384Kbps (R199). All prices exclude VAT.
What does uncapped mean. It means there will be no limit to the amount of data you use at a fixed monthly cost. This is, however, limited to the speed of your line, and or account speed you choose from us.
What is Shaped Internet?
Shaped Internet prioritises certain types of Internet traffic as more important than others, and so on some special applications you could experience sluggishness or other problems. With unshaped Internet there is no port shaping. You get full speed on all ports for surfing, gaming, video streaming, radio streaming, IPTV, P2P and other specialised software, all with much reduced ping (delay) times. Your experience on the Internet should be faster with unshaped Internet.
How do you know if shaped bandwidth is for you:
Your services of the Internet are mostly around Internet surfing, online backups, sending and receiving e-mails, and mostly legitimate communications (although some legitimate communications will still be shaped).
Shaped bandwidth is not designed for torrent downloading (and other similar type of peer-to-peer applications) of data, which may utilise a lot of bandwidth.
You do not require guaranteed speed (on shaped Internet, shaped services can be slow). You do not require a fixed IP address (fixed IP addresses are needed when you run VPN connections from site to site, and or link databases/software solutions that need to send and receive data from sites on a daily basis. SQL servers (and other database servers) that link data between sites are an example of this. Often multi-branch businesses do this for accounting or VPN reasons and a fixed IP address is normally required.
You do not host your e-mail locally at your offices, ie, you collect e-mails from your ISP. (Iteology does have products that can allow e-mail to work directly to these shaped accounts and are services over and above the offering of this service.)

This extra backup solution will cost you only an extra R50 ex VAT for the first six months (desktop/laptop licence only). Thereafter our normal rate will apply, and is subject to terms and conditions and a set-up fee.
So to confirm the above, that is 2GB of online backup storage, for only R50 ex VAT/month for the first six months when you take it with any of our Uncapped Shaped Internet deals. The service's normal price will be applied after six months of use will be R100 ex VAT/month.
