Johannesburg, 30 Jun 2003

At the recent launch of Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Unisys unveiled a series of services and products that bolster the use of Microsoft platforms for the critical applications that run today`s large organisations, building on the growing market acceptance for Microsoft-based enterprise solutions.

Unisys continues to grow its portfolio of integration, networking and consulting services for Microsoft technology. Already recognised as the Microsoft Global Services Partner of the Year for 2002, Unisys will expand the relationship in coming months, announcing new security services; joint development and implementation of Microsoft Jupiter and .NET initiatives; high availability and support services; and focused offerings for financial, education, healthcare and public sector customers.

"Unisys is taking a leading role in delivering servers and solutions that capitalise on the breakthrough capabilities of Microsoft technology," says Jim Allchin, group VP at Microsoft. "Unisys`s expertise and collaboration with Microsoft give enterprise customers the ability to develop and integrate systems faster, run them more reliably and manage them more efficiently."

"Windows Server 2003 takes Microsoft technology to the next level in enterprise computing, just at a time when customers are demanding standardisation," says Allan Currie, director of systems and technology at Unisys Africa. "Standardising on Microsoft is the logical choice, and Unisys has the expertise, the breadth of offerings and the experience with Microsoft technology to help enterprise customers from the consulting stage all the way through to implementation."
