UNIT4 rated among the best for usability in Leader Quadrant of Nucleus Research ERP Value Matrix

* Nucleus Research publishes analysis of rapidly evolving ERP market landscape
* UNIT4 rated among the best for usability, rewarding its accelerated focus on building new generation ERP
* Customers will benefit from excellent user experience and enablement through social, mobile, analytics and cloud

UNIT4, the global leader in software that supports business change, has announced that it has maintained its position in the Leader Quadrant in the Nucleus Research Technology Value Matrix for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) H2 2014 based on its people-centric approach to ERP and investments in cloud, mobile, analytics and social technologies.

The company is rated among the best for usability, and earlier this year announced plans to more than double R&D investment in its new-generation ERP solution with a focus on recreating the consumer technology experience in the workplace.

US-based technology analyst firm, Nucleus Research states: "Vendor investments in usability have resulted in significant changes in user interface design for ERP, and more vendor focus on bringing users along the upgrade path so they can take advantage of usability enhancements. Leaders in this space are doing more than making user interfaces (UIs) cleaner and more personalised. They are leveraging responsive design and machine learning capabilities to make ERP adapt to the evolving needs of users."

The Value Matrix is based on usability and functionality, the two core measures that Nucleus has found indicate an application's ability to deliver initial return on investment and, ultimately, maximum value over time.

"It's an exciting time for UNIT4 as we have all the ingredients to deliver what today's organisations need from their ERP and the ability to adapt to new demands," said Jos'e Duarte, UNIT4 CEO. "Our increased focus on innovation to develop a truly people and services focused ERP developed using the latest in social, mobile and analytics technology will accelerate this transition. Combined with new industry-specific solutions, we will succeed in the new enterprise systems landscape."

The Nucleus Value Matrix states: "Nucleus is also watching UNIT4's future roadmap in a number of areas including in-memory capabilities (UNIT4 embedded in-memory capabilities in Agresso 2013 with in-memory associative filtering, driving rapid analysis of complex business data), social collaboration, and industry-specific capabilities. Nucleus expects that if UNIT4 executes on its planned product roadmap for horizontal capabilities and vertical capabilities (in its core verticals of business services, non-profits, local government, education, wholesale, and real estate) over the next few quarters it will strengthen its functionality positioning in future editions of the Matrix."
