Upgrade for Apple TV
Apple has announced upgrades to its Apple TV system, affecting both its firmware and the iPhone remote application, states DealerScope.
According to AppleInsider, the upgrades, which bring the hardware and software to Apple TV 2.4 and Remote 1.3, respectively, add a control button that provides a new way of navigating Apple TV from an iPhone or iPod Touch.
The software also adds 'By Genre', 'By Movie' and 'Unwatched' to viewing options, while also adding a Flickr search function.
Comcast puts Turner broadcasting online
Time Warner and Comcast have formed a partnership to allow Comcast to make programming from Turner Broadcasting System television stations available online to Comcast cable-TV customers, reports BizJournals.
The companies also agreed to a set of principles governing the online distribution of TV shows in a model they call 'TV Everywhere'.
The announcement by New York-based Time Warner, Atlanta-based Turner Broadcasting's parent, and Philadelphia-based Comcast, comes in the wake of the success of Web sites like the one run by Hulu, which streams popular shows and movies online for free.
