Save thousands in bandwidth costs
Johannesburg, 19 May 2008

SA-Gateway has obtained the rights to distribute WAN load-balancing technology from the US that may help businesses save thousands of rands in bandwidth costs.

AscenLink is an intelligent WAN load balance managing solution. It congregates different ISP and WAN links of an organisation and provides load balancing and WAN fault tolerance for those links to ensure Internet connectivity, stability of external connection and reliable transmission quality.

Tom Muller, the Product Manager for the Ascenlink, says the solution can practically guarantee 100% uptime by combining a mix of ISPs and technologies.

He further says it not only reduces a client's monthly interbranch connectivity bill, but also simultaneously increases the company's bandwidth capacity and provides a return on investment within six months.

The Ascenlink allows clients to have, as an example, 5 x 4Mb's ADSL lines, Diginet and an iBurst connection for backup and then allows you to aggregate that bandwidth together.

The largest unit allows for up to 50 WAN connections, providing you with 200Mb/s inbound and 19,2Mb/s outbound WAN connection if you use 4Mb's ADSL lines.

AscenLink implements an intelligent auto-routing algorithm to dynamically balance outgoing traffic to multiple WAN links. It does not require configuration of complex routing table the way normal routers do, hence minimising the effort of MIS.

AscenLink supports different types of WAN connections, such as leased line, broadband (ADSL) and ISDN. By using AscenLink to replace expensive leased lines with multiple broadband links, companies can save a substantial amount in WAN connection fees while maintaining high reliability.

The Ascenlink is perfect for the South African market where leased line links are extremely expensive and where we have ever-increasing connectivity options available to us.

"We have just launched the product but have already implemented it at several large local businesses and other large corporate companies are also currently testing the Ascenlink for their networks," Muller says.

A product information and training session will be held shortly. Brochures and case studies are also available on our Web site. Visit www.sagateway.com for more information.
