The US Army Reserves and US Army National Guard, Cognos customers for more than three years, have chosen Cognos Series 7 to drive their enterprise-wide business intelligence.
The organisations will use Cognos Series 7 for integrated business intelligence reporting, analysis, ad hoc query, balanced scorecarding and visualisation.
The organisations have also chosen Cognos Noticecast for operational event detection and alerting to wireless devices and e-mail, and professional services. This is in line with the worldwide drive towards proactive enterprise information delivery, to any device, anywhere in the world.
With more than 600 000 people across the US Army Reserves and US Army National Guard, located across the US, Cognos Series 7 will be deployed across an extranet environment. It will allow the two army organisations to fulfil the goals of corporate performance management (CPM), a rapidly emerging and developing technology/business wave, endorsed by Gartner, that allows a 360-degree view of the business.
"The unprecedented effort that went into Cognos Series 7 has yielded the best breadth-and-depth business intelligence solution in the industry from a single vendor. We are enormously proud and privileged to work with organisations such as the US Army Reserves and US Army National Guard, delivering vital," says Dave Laverty, senior VP, global marketing, Cognos.
