US teachers embrace technology
Those tools could become history with a digital teaching system Fort Bend Independent School District (ISD) is looking to launch. Officials are formulating a plan to pilot the system, which will use devices such as iPads and laptops in elementary and middle school Science classes initially, with the hope that it will eventually spread into other classrooms.
Fort Bend ISD's Educational Technology Department hosted its second annual technology conference, at Ridge Point High School, this summer, with more than 700 teachers, administrators and staff in attendance, reports Your Sugar Land News.
The concept is for digital devices to connect the teacher and students in the classroom in a wireless network environment. From their devices, teachers would be able to instantly access pieces of prepared lesson plans and core content, as well as student exercise modules, and other activity assignments.
The teachers would control what content is transmitted to the devices of students working individually or in groups.
