USA for Innovation Applauds action on China
USA for Innovation (a non-profit organisation dedicated to the protection of intellectual property) has applauded the efforts of the US Trade Representative in its filing a major trade case against China for violation of internationally established trade rules of the World Trade Organisation.
This is according to Manufacturing Business Technology, which adds the action against China "represents a positive step forward by the Bush Administration in protecting intellectual property rights, innovation and the continued growth of the American economy".
"The inability in recent years for China to actively protect and enforce intellectual property rights standards has been cited by the US Trade Representative and others as a serious concern," notes the article.
Global 100 survey available
Manufacturing Business Technology has released the results of its latest Global 100 survey, which ranks businesses in the field of manufacturing technology.
Six categories comprise the survey, including computing infrastructure, product innovation, enterprise and supply chain applications, services, business performance management and plant floor operations.
In the category of computing infrastructure, IBM (with $96 billion in revenue) beat Hewlett-Packard, Sun Microsystems and EMC to the top spot.
Datamonitor considers manufacturing IT uptake
Datamonitor has completed a survey examining business outlook and future IT uptake among the world`s leading 100 manufacturers.
"This report involved a major end-user survey comprised of 100 global manufacturers. The interviewees included C-level execs, CIOs and IT managers," according to Computer Business Review.
Highlights of the report, which can be ordered online, include the finding that manufacturers are starting to see their individual performance isn`t the sole contributor to their success in the market.
